About the Dorset County Show

Since 1841, The Dorset County Show has been a celebration of all things Dorset and the countryside.

Dedicated to providing family entertainment and educating people on the agricultural world, it is rapidly becoming one of the biggest county shows in the UK. The Show is now the biggest two-day show in the South-West.

When: 1-2 September, 2012.

Where: The Dorchester Showground, Dorchester, DT2 7SD. Follow the yellow signs from both the A35 and the A37.

How: By car; parking is free at the Showground. If you’re coming by public transport, take the train or bus to Dorchester and pick up a First Bus service number 998, running frequently from Dorchester to the Showground. By foot; the Showground is accessible via both the Greys Bridge and Blue Bridge footpaths. Greys Bridge provides reasonable access for those in wheelchairs, motorised scooters and with push chairs.

Tickets: A pre-show adult ticket is £10 or £13 on the day . Entrance is free for children aged 16 and under. Tickets can be bought online at www.dorsetcountyshow.co.uk or from Tourist Information Centres across Dorset. Members gain free access to the show and reduced entry to some classes. Childcare: Sunny Days Nursery will offer free two hour crèche sessions for 3 to 10 year olds. Nappy changing and feeding facilities are also on offer. The crèche is open each day of the show from 8.30am until 6pm.
